It is 45 Kms away from Palakkad. The water spread of the dam lies in a single stretch. An evergreen forest named "Vettilachola" is immediately beyond the river. The reservoir is surrounded by hill and during winter seasons, the mountain will be covered with mist. This garden at the dam site, is very attractive and beautiful and also has facility for boating etc.
