Dr.V.Vijayalakshmi, a senior Paediatrician is well respected, and one of the most popular medical practitioners serving the humanity for more than 35 years. Dr.Vijayalakshmi had her medical education at the renowed Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, acquiring her MBBS in 1962. She joined the Railway Medical Service immediately afterwards. She was elevated to the rank of Chief Medical Superintendent, incharge of the entire Palakkad Medical division. She retired from the service in October 1995. She bagged the Nilima Choudhiry memorial gold medal for standing Ist in the University. She also acquired Diploma in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians, London and Dublin in 1976. With her excellent academic career and long professional experience, even after superannuation from the Railway service, she remains a very popular and fulltime consultant practitioner of medicine at Palakkad.
