This
festival is celebrated in the middle of February every year
in grand manner. Tippu, the Emperor of Mysore, relates it
to the invasion of this area. His soldiers, who had settled
at Pattambi, had started this celebration in 1913 in memory
of Aloor Valia Pookunhikoya Thangal, who had helped them in
their distress. The nercha is an example of communal harmony.
About 40 Caparisoned elephants participate in the celebration.
