This homepage celebrates the time of the founding fathers of Pachuveedu and their lineage…The cherished memories and around which its roots evolved …Salutes the vision of its forefathers who dreamt and lived for a better tomorrow. It hopes to achieve the objective of bringing all its members scattered throughout a small globe. After all we are just an e-mail away.

Origin
Legend has it that the origin of Pachuveedu dates back to 1800 AD with its root in then Calicut (now Kozhikode) district of Madras Province in India. A 13 member branch of this lineage latter migrated to koduvayur in Palakkad district. A section of this branch established their presence at Pallasena in Palakkad. Their grandiose vision was translated into a “nalukettu” (ancient house of the Nair/Menon community in Kerala known for its classical architecture), spacious ventilated rooms, wooden roofs, a well defined granaries (Pathayams), attics (Machu), room sublets (Edanazhis), tiled rooftops and courtyards are hallmarks of ancient Kerala architecture and remind us of a bygone era.

Today

Two hundred years has passed but the saga goes on, you can still hear the horses galloping mounted on them valiant Pachuveedu soldiers Caparisoned Elephants against the backdrop of fullit temple lamps. Lush green paddy fields and swaying coconut trees where once artisans performed in massive courtyards under the watchful eyes of Karnavars and elegantly dressed gossiping Nair ladies – all this has become memories to recall.

Today the massive Nalukettu remains only in sweet memories. The huge structure has been donated to CHINMAYA MISSION,  Who in turn demolished it and turned into a citadel of 3Rs (Primary Education). Today what remains of Pachuveedu is a Pathayapura a multistoried tiled structure with multifarious ivngrooms/storerooms/pathayams etc. This belongs to Parukuttyamma and her children. The family deities protect the structure in silent memories.

It is here some members of Pachuveedu Tharavadu meet in the month of April every year to worship & propitiate the family deities. All those present attend the daylong rituals. This annual get together is an opportunity for all members of Pachuveedu to recall the glorious and colourful days of the past when the entire family operated under one of a Karanavur. All members of Pachuveedu are solicited to avail this opportunity to meet and exchange greetings while propitiating the family deities.

"Deva Prasnam"

The present location of the family deities of Pachuveedu Tharavadu are to be shifted to a new location. This is found necessary as a result of 'Deva Prasnam' which reveals numerous shortfalls, inadequicies of rituals and most unsatisfactory surroundings. As a consequence of this situation the family members are inflicted with health problems, financial difficulties and other family problems. The alternate location found acceptible to the deities in the 'Deva Prasnam' is the Pothu muttam. In view of the above efforts are underway to costruct new structures and shift the deities. As a prelude to this endeavor 'Shanthi Poojas' were required to be performed to ward off the evils and remove obstacles if any in achieving the desired objective of shifting to the new location .These 'Shanthi Poojas' were held on 2nd and 3rd Feb. 2002 and all the rituals performed were of high standard and fully in conformity with the wishes of the deities. Family members and well wishers are solicted to make liberal Contributions for this venture Contribution for this devine cause by Cheque/DD/Cash may be sent to the following address.
